More company success with Learning Analytics

Improve your company success with Learning Analytics

The new add-on for the imc Learning Suite allows to make the success of professional development measurable and visible. This has a direct impact on the success of the company.

Making the success of continuing education visible and measurable has always been a concern for Learning and Development managers. Budget managers primarily see one thing: a high invest. However, how much training employees actually receive and to what extent it contributes to the company's goals and business success has been a matter of speculation until now.

This is exactly where the new Learning Analytics add-on for the imc Learning Suite comes in. Learning analytics applies logic and mathematics to learning data to gain insights that enable faster and better decisions to improve learning outcomes. In doing so, the add-on helps organisations measure the effectiveness of their training and development programmes. Through data-driven insights, leaders can identify skills gaps and understand how employees engage with learning materials.

This sound data can greatly assist in making decisions regarding a company's training strategy and can directly contribute to the company's success. It can also lead to better workplace performance, higher employee satisfaction and a better ROI on training investments.

Channels: Innovation Pack 14.13

Channels: Welcome to the age of self-directed learning

Innovation Pack 14.13 for the imc Learning Suite makes learning more self-determined than ever before

25.07.2022

Corporate learning and the learner's expectations are changing fundamentally. Learners no longer want to put up with dull face-to-face teaching and the cramming of theoretical knowledge. "Learning experience" is the keyword, and this means not only the appealing design of learning content and portals, but also a different kind of learning: personalised, informal and above all self-directed.

Therefore imc introduces a new  function which puts learning experience in the center: The Channels. Innovation Pack 14.13 for imc Learning Suite allows a totally new way of self-directed learning.

The new channels are topic-based containers that contain learning nuggets on the respective topics. Learners can subscribe to topics and are always kept up to date via email notifications when there is new content.

The look and feel are reminiscent of familiar platforms such as YouTube or Netflix, making it intuitive for all learners. When consuming a Learning Nugget, a playlist of content from the same channel is displayed at the edge of the screen so learners can quickly move to the next Learning Nugget.

Innovation Pack 14.11

Updates incoming: Innovation Pack 14.11 for imc Learning Suite is now available

New year, new updates for imc Learning Suite! Especially administrators should be pleased with Innovation Pack 14.11. We shed some light on the most important updates.

19.01.2022

Simpler, more intuitive and time-saving: that was the goal we pursued with the new updates to our Learning Management System. Despite the increasing complexity of the system, user-friendliness must not suffer. That was the challenge.

Therefore, we have worked on several innovations to make life easier for course administrators in particular. Among other things, importing the learning history was simplified in IP 14.11, videos can now be embedded directly in news and booking confirmations can be adapted more quickly.

One special highlight within IP 14.11 is the simplified management of On-the-job-Trainings (OJT). A new filter- and sort mode allows mentors who handle many different learners to get a better overview of all OJTs and learners. The layout of the On-the-job training list has been improved both for learners and for mentors. Another highlight for learners in OJT modules is a print ready version of the OJT that can be saved as PDF or printed directly to serve as a certificate of achievement.

Another point we have worked on is self-registration within the LMS. Especially when an LMS is used to grant external access to certain e-learning content, self-registration is a good way. However, if registration forms are displayed on a website, there is a risk of bot attacks.

To prevent form entries by such bots, the imc Learning Suite now offers the option to integrate Friendly Captcha. The GDPR-compliant tool can be integrated via the configuration manager.

But first, let's have a look at the new IP 14.10 features at a glance:

  • 24/7 proctoring with Examity: Customers can now use Examity within the iLS around the clock. This leading proctoring service will be connected via API providing a seamless integration into the LMS. Examity is the first proctoring solution which fulfils common data privacy directives.

With IP 14.9 Shopify enters imc Learning Suite

Push notifications, open badges and Shopify interface: The imc learning management system is presenting these and other innovative features in the first quarter. Above all, the new features are promising an improved user experience.

23.02.2021

Online shops were already booming before corona: The number of companies integrating a direct shop into their learning management system (LMS) is increasing. More often than not, Shopify is the platform of choice for the creation of such e-commerce shops.

That’s reason enough for us to provide an interface between the imc Learning Suite (ILS) and Shopify. In the latest ILS version, Innovation Pack 14.9, this interface can be booked as an optional feature.

But that’s not all! New features also include the following:

  • Portable open badges: The ILS can now issue standards-compliant badges. These digital badges certify skills and achievements, and are issued to learners when they meet certain criteria.
The new function allows learners to access and download their badges directly, and upload them into an open digital backpack. From there, the learner can share their badge anywhere.
  • Attendance tracking via QR code: Personal QRs make it happen. Learners and tutors both save time on attendance registration and control.
What’s more, tutors can compare the QR code information against the user information in the system, and make changes on the level of course progress or curriculum elements as necessary.
  • WBT import in xAPI or Tin Can format: The ILS now also supports these popular output formats to SCORM that are frequently used by leading content creation tools.
  • Push notifications for new learning nuggets: Administrators can now use push notifications to inform learners of any new or updated learning nuggets included in a course.
  • Improved effectiveness check: The effectiveness check – or 180° feedback – already included in IP 14.7 has been extended. Now, individuals from either side – course participants or supervisors – can give feedback on a course without the other party being required to do the same.

Michael Schlothauer, Head of Product Management for the imc Learning Suite, is confident: “We stated that our clear goal for 2021 was to offer an even better user experience. The focus is on our customers’ needs, and with IP 14.9, we have taken an important step in this direction. Especially the push notifications and the improved effectiveness check contribute greatly to targeted learning and ensuring transfer from learning to real-life application.”

imc AG is the leading full-service provider according to mmb’s E-Learning Economy survey

The independent mmb Institute publishes the only annual market survey on the German e-learning industry in its mmb Branchenmonitor survey. The survey takes a look at developments in industry revenues, number of employees, e-learning business sectors and the provider landscape, and imc is the full-service provider with the highest turnover.

Saarbruecken, 10.12.2020

The independent, private research and consulting institute, mmb Institute, put the development of the e-learning industry in Germany under the microscope for the 13th time. The 2019 figures from 40 providers of education were assessed with regard to the development of their sales volume, number of employees and share of turnover in the e‑learning business sectors. This was used to create a ranking of the most important German e‑learning providers.

Compared to the previous year, imc improved its overall ranking by two places and achieved the third highest turnover. This makes imc the most successful full service provider offering both learning technologies and individual learning content and consulting.

The Branchenmonitor survey first shows the total turnover followed by a breakdown into six additional sub-categories which are sorted according to business sector. imc secured 1st place in the "creation/enhancement of digital learning content" category. The Saarland-based provider also consistently ranks among the leaders in other fields such as "adaptation services for e‑learning content and software" or "tools for e-learning".

Photo of Sven Becker

As emphasised by Sven R. Becker of the imc Executive Board, who is pleased with the positive result, "Our approach of offering client-oriented technologies has paid off. We are the full‑service provider with the highest turnover, which demonstrates that the market demands holistic strategic support."
